Coreco Imaging was established in 1979 by MIT graduate Daniel Crevier to undertake contractual research work, and the company's name reflects this objective: COntractual REsearch COmpany. To meet the growing demand for image-processing products, the company was incorporated in the mid-1980s and extended the sale of its hardware products to the commercial market. The company grew rapidly in recognition of its hardware and software expertise. Soon to follow was a highly successful IPO in 1996 and a number of acquisitions: Vancouver-based Logical Vision in 1997, Ottawa-based Dipix in 1999, and Boston-based Imaging Technology Inc., in 2001. In 2002, Coreco Imaging created its Intelligent Products Division (ipd), which serves the end-user market and is headquartered in Billerica, MA.
